Phillips Fast
The Typicon states: According to the forty-day tradition, the Phillip’s Fast in preparation for Christmas begins on this Sunday. During the fast it was the custom to observe a strict abstinence on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and a lesser abstinence on Tuesday and Thursday. The fast is observed more strictly from December 10 (in some traditions) or from December 20 (in other traditions), with daily strict abstinence, and a mitigated abstinence (wine & oil) on Saturday and Sunday. This fast may be observed voluntarily, partially or in its entirety.

Each 6-day candle in the 2 stands in front of the iconostas is $3 a piece.

Fund Raising
This week we ordered and received more scrip cards. Come take a look at the wide selection and buy a few for your routine expenses like gasoline, pizza, department stores, restaurants, etc.  We have many good books in St. Mary’s Hall too. The pumpkin logs are in stock with many other bake goods. Buy some for the family.

Thank You
Father Sid thanks those who’ve remembered him in your prayers and for those who’ve laid hands on him. Fr. continues to get stronger and will be visiting the doctor this Wednesday. We pray that his brace will no longer be necessary and the remaining physical therapy will progress much quicker than others his age.
