Announcements
June Healing Service
Fr. Sid will be at a priest conference this Tuesday and Wednesday. Pray for his safe travel and a productive trip. We still are asking for your healing testimonials. And let everyone know that the Healing Service is scheduled for Wednesday June 16.
Saints Peter & Paul (Apostles) Fast
We’re currently in the Apostles Fast. It concludes on the evening of Monday, June 28. The Typikon prescribes strict abstinence on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with a mitigated abstinence (Wine and Oil) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Ruthenian Metropolia has identified this period as a penitential season (Canon 880). This fast may be observed voluntarily.
Otpust
See the bulletin insert for details on the 1st Midwest Region Family Otpust being held at St. Michael’s Church in Merrillville, IN – about 2.5 hours northwest of Indy.
Fund Raising
Thanks to all who helped make the baked goods this week: Cyndi H., Al Z., Danny E., Harry & Cherie K., Courtney, Joe K., Bill F., Richard M, John S., Bertha. We made 87 rolls, chocolate logs, herbal bread, and kolachy. Everyone had great fun. The markets were covered this weekend by Joe K., Danny E., Cyndi H., Paul S. Now that we’ve added the Stadium Village Farmers Market on Tuesdays we need more bake goods and marketers. Let the rectory know when you’re available to help. This is a great way to share your talent and time for both evangelization and helping the parish meet its financial responsibilities. Remember to tithe in addition to helping out. Thank you for being a dedicated parishioner here at St. Athanasius Church!
