OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We, the Light of the East in Central and Southern Indiana, under the protection of our patron, Saint Athanasius the Great, called to faith and salvation in Jesus Christ according to the Byzantine Catholic tradition, strive to live the Gospel by giving praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God in word and mystery (Sacrament): learning, teaching and evangelizing through the sharing of our faith and serving human needs. We are open to all seeking the full Gospel of Jesus Christ for membership in our church. We commit ourselves to generosity and to the responsible use of our spiritual and material resources.
MISSION GOALS: To upgrade/replace our current church and rectory, expand our social hall, offer our ethnic foods.
OUR PARISH PRAYER:
Oh God the benefactor of our souls, Grant that by the prayers of St. Athanasius our parish patron,
We may be blessed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Grant that our community would grow in Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Piety, Knowledge and Fear of the Lord.  Grant that our community would grow in Charity, Faith, Prudence, Hope, Justice and Temperance.
Oh Confessor and Bishop Athanasius, you said, “God became man so that man could become god.” Pray for us that we would grow in Spirit.
Through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos and all the saints, now and forever. Amen.
