Events Calendar

  • Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Friday September 14 is a solemn holy day. Divine Liturgy is scheduled for 6 p.m.
  • Lots of good nutrition information is being shared in the weekly Wellness class. It is held in St. Mary’s Hall on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Last week’s presentation was two videos and a detailed discussion on protein requirements for maintaining optimal muscle and bone health as we age.
  • Spiritual Compassion Session for Cancer Families had its inaugural debut this past Wednesday at 7 p.m. Two sessions per month are being held on the first & third Wednesdays of the month. We viewed and discussed one person’s successful bout with leukemia. It included 12 lessons learned – living with cancer. E.g. Take ½ day at a time, have a strong will, and be grateful.
  • The ancient Healing Services for September are scheduled for September 12th and 26th. So come this Wednesday the 12th at 7 p.m. and participate. Give and receive blessings at this powerful service.
  • In addition to the birthdays published last week it was discovered that Sonia Stanton had a birthday in the first week of September and Belinda Dorney is celebrating a birthday this week. God grant your servants many happy and blessed years! If you have any additions or changes please contact the rectory.
  • An observance of Rev. Fr. Sidney Sidor’s death is being held Sunday September 23. It’s the 40th day of the parish mourning his passing. The Divine Liturgy will be immediately followed by the Panachida memorial service as we continue to pray for our beloved deceased priest, spiritual director, instructor, mentor and friend. Then we will have a meal served in St. Mary’s Hall by the James O’Brian council of the Knights of Columbus. Please spread the word so that others who hadn’t learned of Father’s death until after the funeral now have a chance to pray with the parish for the repose of his soul. Also consider having a Divine Liturgy said for Fr. Sid or his family. The traditional stipend is $10 per Liturgy.
