Announcements
The Great Fast
“It is necessary most of all for one who is fasting to curb anger, to accustom oneself to meekness and condescension, to have a contrite heart, to repulse impure thoughts and desires, to examine the conscience, to put one’s mind to the test and to verify what good has been done by us in this or any other week, and which deficiency we have corrected in our self in the present week.
This is true fasting.” St. John Chrysostom
Christian Initiation
Ray Hamilton, Allyson and Alex Carmichael will be receiving the 3 mysteries (sacraments) of Baptism, Chrismation & Holy Eucharist today. Our parish welcomes the newly “Sealed in the Holy Spirit” brothers and sister of God. Come celebrate with their families after Divine Liturgy. There will be a feast in St. Mary’s Hall.
Our Focus on Marriage Needs You
Join Bishop John and the faithful of our eparchy at the Cathedral in Parma for Vespers on Thursday, March 24 followed by a presentation by Ann M. Hanincik, MTS.
If you can’t make it to the Cathedral, you don’t need to miss the opportunity. Join us on-line for a live streaming video of the experience beginning at 6:30 p.m. Simply log onto parma.org and follow the instructions.
Pysanky Class
We plan to have our first session of Easter egg decorating following the 9 AM Saturday, March 26 liturgy. You can learn the wax-removal method of dying eggs that is part of the Byzantine Ruthenian tradition. These decorated eggs are used in your Easter basket and you can give them as gifts. Everyone is invited.
