Announcements
Events Calendar
- The month of August has 3 holy days: Aug 6 – The Transfiguration of Our Lord (solemn holy day); Aug 15 – Dormition of the Theotokos (holy day of obligation); and Aug. 29 Beheading of John the Baptist (simple holy day.) Liturgical times will be announced once Fr. Bryan Eyman comes to Indianapolis.
- The Dormition Fast is from Thursday, August 1 through Wednesday, August 14. The traditional rule is a strict abstinence with usual mitigations (wine & oil) for Saturday & Sunday and the feast of the Transfiguration (August 6.) The Ruthenian Metropolia has identified this period as a penitential season (Canon 880, § 2). This fast may be observed voluntarily but it is highly recommended for your spiritual & physical wellbeing.
- The Eparchy of Parma is holding a General Assembly on Friday evening through Sunday morning September 20-22. There is a frequently asked questions brochure and a registration form with itinerary available in the hall. More information will follow here at the parish and publicized in The Horizons.
Please remember in your prayers
Fr. Bryan Eyman, our new pastor starting this week; Fr. Christiaan Kappes for his celebrating services for our parish during this transition of pastors; our parishioners, family members, friends and acquaintances who are ill or infirmed. God grant your servants peace, health and happiness for many years!
Thank you
Thanks to those who helped with rectory renovations (moving furnishings, painting, etc.) and/or attended bake days and the fund-raising markets in the last week. The customers at the markets compliment the bakers and salespeople for providing goodies. Without you we couldn’t have continued meeting their expectations and providing the parish with much needed funds. God grant you many years.
