Events Calendar
- Father Sid will be blessing vehicles on Wednesday, July 20th, as we celebrate the simple feast day for the Great Prophet Elijah. There are flyers in the hall that will help remind others to bring their automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, skates, etc. to church to have them blessed. Help distribute the flyers to your workplace, neighborhood, etc. Come on the 19th or the 20th and have a special blessing bestowed upon your vehicle of choice that you journey safely during your travels. Because of this blessing the start time of the Patristics Theology class has moved from 6 to 6:30 P.M.
- The next Knights of Columbus Brunch will be on July 24 following the Sunday Divine Liturgy.
- The next healing service is on Wednesday, July 27, also the feast day of Saint Panteleimon (or Pantaleon.) He was a great Martyr and Imperial physician. He was beheaded about A.D. 303 during the reign of Emperor Maximian. We have his icon in church & venerate it to ask his intercession for healing.
- Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Shrine in Olympia, WA is on August 12 & 13. If you are traveling to the northwest you may want to add this to your itinerary. Their newsletter is in the hall.
Early Church Teaching
According to Patristics Theology the departed souls awaiting judgment need prayer for healing from sin not for removal of punishment. Come to the Tuesday evening Patristics class to learn more.
