Announcements
Thank You
Father Sid thanks everyone for their prayers while his knee recovers from a fall this past Wednesday. Some have laid hands on their own left knee sitting in proxy for him. Some have lit candles. Thank you to all who’ve been practicing what they’ve learned from the healing services and Father’s sermons.
Events Calendar
- The next healing service is Wednesday, August 24. Now’s the time to invite your friends and family.
- The next monthly Knights of Columbus Brunch is 1 week away. Next Sunday after the 10 AM Divine Liturgy the Knights will be hosting a meal for parishioners and guests. Invite your co-workers and neighbors to join us. We only request a free-will offering.
- The simple holy day of the Beheading of John the Baptist is Monday, August 29.
- 77th Annual Pilgrimage in Honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Mount St Macrina in Uniontown PA is being held Sept 3-4. John D attends every year so he can answer many of your questions. The brochure from the Sisters of St. Basil the Great is in the hall.
Fund Raising
This week we had 3 shipments of books arrive. They include many good subjects that should be included in your library. Browse through them on the book shelves of St. Mary’s Hall. Purchase them for yourself or gifts for students going off to college or people who are in need of spiritual direction. We will be ordering more scrip cards early this week. Please let us know what gift cards you’re likely to purchase. Thanks to those who have “stepped up” and helped us evangelize at the farmer’s markets. Thanks to those who come on bake days to make the delicious products our customers have come to expect from our parish.
2nd Collection
Thank you for the $114 collected in the second collection last week. We’ve collected $831 towards the goal of $950 for the replacement of Fr. Sid’s white vestments. We will continue the 2nd collection to help defray the cost of the vestments & other church expenses.
