Pancake / Ethnic brunch – Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010

You are here: Home / Latest News / Pancake / Ethnic brunch – Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010

Published by Saint Athanasius the Great Byzantine Catholic Church

The Knights of Columbus James J O’Brian council 13850 is hosting a meal following the Divine Liturgy. The menu includes both standard American breakfast items and some of our traditional Slavic dishes:

  • scrambled eggs
  • pancakes – regular and multi-grain
  • hash browns
  • biscuits & sausage gravy
  • potato-cheese pirohi (also spelled pirogi) with sauteed onions
  • kielbasi and sauerkraut
  • coffee, tea, milk, orange juice
  • dessert: our famous nut and poppy seed rolls

The cost of the brunch? It’s up to you. We only ask for a free will donation to help the council help the parish. There will be a 50-50 raffle. Also you can buy items for your Easter basket: our famous nut rolls (see all the other flavors on the baked goods page), pascha bread, kolachy and pumpkin logs.
Here’s the flier for the brunch showing pictures from last month’s feast: March 28 Brunch
During the event we will also show how to weave your palm leaves into various objects.  So bring the whole family. Liturgy starts at 10 am. Brunch is from 11:45 am until 1:30 pm. Come pray, come eat, come learn palm weaving, and come enjoy fellowship with us. All are welcome!
