Please drive safely on Sunday morning and we will see you at 9:45 for the 3rd hour, Divine Liturgy and blessing of the Jordan water.
Ice Storm 2011
All liturgies from February 1st to February 4th were canceled because of the weather. Indianapolis had ice on Monday into Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon we had about 1″ of sleet on top of the 3/4″ ice. By Wednesday morning the sleet was topped off with more ice. Later on Wednesday we has some snow but it was blown by the heavy wind. Luckily the sun came out on Thursday and Friday but temperatures were below freezing. It took a lot of manual effort by Richard M, Joe K, Bill F, John D and Jim Y to chop through the dual layers of ice. Friday night we had a path cleared from the parking lot to the front of the church. On Saturday Jim Y. shoveled the new Friday/Saturday 4″ snow from the deiced walkways so we were able to celebrate our first Divine Liturgy in 5 days. Thank God for keeping the majority of parishioners and friends safe during the weather. May God grant a quick healing for those who slipped on the ice at their homes.
Enjoy the pictures!
Feb 1 liturgy canceled
Due to the icy conditions there will be no liturgy tonight, Tuesday. Wednesday morning’s scheduled liturgy is being moved to 5:30 PM on Wednesday, February 2nd. It is a solemn feast day of the Encounter of the Lord with Simeon and Anna. It is not a holy day of obligation.
Be safe and don’t travel outdoors if you don’t have to. I will light a candle in church for the safety of each one of you and your families. Keep thanking God for His blessings.
