The baked goods are sure to be a flavorful, traditional Eastern European (Slovak, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Ukrainian) and/or Italian dessert for you, your family and friends. May God grant you a blessed week and a truly spiritual and prayerful Great Fast!

Nut Rolls, Poppy Seed Rolls, Kolachy (kolache), Pierogi (pyrohy, vereniky), Biscotti, Pizzelles, Pumpkin Roll are all available online for you to buy. We’ve made it simple: Click on a button to order and when you’re through ordering, just checkout.

Large and medium pascha

Large- and medium-sized paschas

The Easter bread (pascha or paska) is a large round loaf of bread, made of bread flour sweetened with honey, sugar & vanilla and enriched by adding lots of eggs, butter, milk, and (optionally) raisins. The egg-rich bread has a very soft crumb and a golden color due to lots of egg yolks. On top it is decorated with a crown and/or a cross. It symbolizes our Lord Jesus Christ, Who ‘‘came down from heaven to give life (eternal) to the world” (cf. Prayer for the Blessing of the Bread). It makes a beautiful addition to your Easter Basket and a great centerpiece for your Easter dinner table.

We make the traditional Pascha of our Slovakian heritage. There is both lemon and orange zest in our delicious loaves for a beautiful citrus aroma and elegance. Many customers have told us that they use it to make great french-toast.

Prices shown below include handling charges for shipment.; shipping charges are calculated at checkout. Prices at the church hall and farmers’ markets are lower; call for local pricing (317-632-4157).  We will ship orders during Holy Week (April 15 until April 18) but we can’t guarantee delivery by Holy Saturday April 20. NUT ROLLS (a.k.a. potica, povitica, Orechovnik, Orevnitza, Orehnjaca, Makoweic, Kaláč, Kolachki, Beigli, Strudla – just to name a few)

Our Traditional Rolls are made with loving care. They consist of a sweet bread dough (“the dough is so good”) which is rolled around various delicious fillings. Each full roll is 12-14 inches in length. The nut roll weights in at 18 ounces (1.5 lbs.) or more.  Our premium quality rolls baked with love are very reasonably priced. Each roll is wrapped and then bagged by hand to lock in the freshness and wonderful flavor. You can keep them in the freezer for many months.
We make the scrumptious dough and walnut, poppy seed, apricot and lekvar (prune butter) fillings from scratch with all natural ingredients. For example, we finely grind whole poppy seeds and make our popular poppy filling with whole milk, butter, lemon zest, honey and sugar. We don’t take short cuts like those who buy canned “poppy butter” made with corn starch and strange preservatives. The only preservative we add to these fillings is natural honey.

Today I brought in some of the biscotti to give to the three ladies and one man (the chef) who prepare the meals for school. I just went back for lunch and they were raving about your biscotti. The chef, Al, said your biscotti were superior to ones he has gotten from specialty stores. He and the other lady said you should consider selling them on QVC.   … M.D. from PA

Everyone loved them. David, our youngest son who lived in Slovakia for four years, said they were just like the rolls you get in Slovakia. Mary, our only daughter, shared them with her in-laws. Mother-in-law Carol (Slovak) said she especially liked the prune roll. She told Mary it was the best “Lekvar Roll” she ever tasted.  … P.S. from AZ

Our whole family loves the nut rolls.  We first found you at the Binford Farmers Market and went every Saturday to buy a nut roll for the week. Looking forward to receiving this order and I am sure we will be ordering many times during the years to come.  … J.M. from FL

February 2018 – Our new offering was a resounding success at the Carmel Winter Farmers Market. It’s a warm herbal tea that potentially has multiple health benefits. What is this elixir? We call it Golden Turmeric Tea. It’s a bouquet of spices: turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper & cardamom. This mix is added to your beverage of choice: almond, dairy, or coconut milks or bone broth, etc. and optionally sweetened to taste with your molasses, stevia, honey, or agave syrup, etc. A teaspoon of our Golden Turmeric Tea Mix in an 8 ounce serving contains 438 mg curcumin; 450 mg/day of curcumin is the minimum recommended amount for an anti-inflammatory benefit.

May 7, 2017 – We introduced potato-cheese pirohi heated on a griddle and halušky (cabbage & egg noodles) at the Carmel Farmers Market on 5/6/17. When people approached our booth #13 they could smell the aroma of sauteed onions and heated halušky. The mention of pirohi turned a lot of people’s heads who did a double-take and became customers of our hand-pinched pirohi, which is served with sauteed onions, sour cream and/or chives. A serving of pirohi or halušky is $3.00 or purchase a “combo” (serving of each) for $5.00. We received both 2 thumbs-up and raving reviews for offering unique and traditional ready-to-eat Polish or Eastern European gastronomic food. Thank you to our patrons for your enthusiastic approval.

October 2016 – At the October 4th market a new customer bought a single serving of pumpkin roll. We noticed her car never made it out of the parking lot. She drove back to the market and bought two whole pumpkin rolls. As we’ve told our customers, the pumpkin rolls are made of 10 authentic ingredients that most 2nd graders can pronounce – no preservatives or substitutions for real vanilla, butter, etc. We puree the pumpkins each fall season. No shortcuts and you can taste the difference.

My son bought some of your products. They were excellent. Also, my mother grew up on Blaine Avenue in Johnsonburg, Pa. My son indicated that someone at your facility is from either Johnsonburg or Emporium.. If so, I would appreciate knowing. My mother’s maiden name is Helen Pavlock. It would be great to let her know if an old neighbor is at your church. Thanks.

Can Pascha bread be frozen to store until Easter?

  4. May 6, 2019 7:46 am

Yes. We wrap the Pascha bread in plastic wrap and also put it in a bag. This prevents freezer burn.

Yes, we make potato-cheese, potato-green onion, potato-garlic, sauerkraut, lekvar (prune butter) and sweet cheese. The first 4 are savory and are used as a side dish or main entree. The last 2 are sweet and used as desserts. They’re all boiled and have already been coated with butter. Heat ’em and eat ’em.

I’m sorry that we don’t make the fried filled-donuts. Most grocery stores have them around the beginning of Lent.
